The technology of STCAN is based on a patent proposed by COGNISCAN, called Cognitive Scanning. To make this patent possible, COGNISCAN developed all the necessary technological elements: a microwave sensor unique in the world, a reconfigurable and ultra-fast RF switch enabling intelligent activation of the antennas, an ergonomic mechanical support, and software incorporating highly precise image reconstruction algorithms. The integration of these innovations, all designed by COGNISCAN, has made Cognitive Scanning a reality, a breakthrough that paves the way for non-invasive, rapid, and reliable brain diagnostics.

Preclinical trials
As part of the development of STCAN, our innovative device for the detection and classification of strokes, preclinical trials are currently being conducted in Limoges at the Limoges University Hospital, on the EMIS platform, under the direction of Professor Aymeric Rouchaud, a neurologist and expert in the field of strokes; these experiments are being carried out on New Zealand rabbits, a reference animal model in neurovascular research, with the aim of demonstrating the effectiveness of the STCAN technology for the detection and classification of strokes, in particular the distinction between ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, as well as to confirm the non-invasive nature and safety of the technology; the results obtained at this stage confirm the achievement of the scientific and technological objectives set and constitute a key step in preclinical validation prior to future clinical studies in humans, and will be the subject of publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
